Have you seen the website Cook, Eat, Share?  It is fantastic!  You can share and use recipes along with viewing related how-to videos.  You can also make a shopping list and a menu planner all on the same site.  Professionals and beginners use this networking venue.  I have already posted one recipe but I just signed up so I have many more to share.  Take a look:

Increase Your Brain Power

As a woman and going through the aging process, I have noticed that I do need to watch my diet so I can think more clearly and boost my memory. A good diet is so simple but yet so easy to slip off of when the comfort foods of winter take over. I've discovered this winter that I have slipped into some bad habits and I don't think I'm doing my brain or my waistline any service.

Here's an article by Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen on Brain Food-Brain Power

Learning to Play Guitar

All my life someone else has played the guitar for me. It has either been a friend, my husband or my father. I realize my time is running out as I get older and I may be left to fend for myself one day. So I had better learn to accompany myself. I guess I never committed to it because of the tender fingers learning a guitar causes until they toughen up of course. Today was my first guitar lesson and I'm trying to teach myself.

If you are looking for online lessons, here is a link that teaches for free.

Caring for Cast Iron Pots and Pans

I just purchased my first cast iron skillet. It said non-stick and so it was. However, I am now learning that when using cast iron, one must not use high heat and also one must cook fatty foods in the skillet for the first while to help with the seasoning.

Here is detailed instruction on caring for cast iron pots and pans.

Learning to use my Crock Pot

Tonight I've put the first recipe in my new Crock Pot. I'm cooking a 3 lb. blade roast on high for 5 1/2 hours. I hope that's enough time because I put it on a lot later than I wanted to. Here's a video from ifood.tv for roast beef sandwiches Italian style. Looks great. Can't wait to try a turkey breast recipe I saw on Youtube in my Crock Pot next. I know it took me a long time to get a crock pot but I really need it now since I'm way too busy some days to cook a substantial meal. Feel free to leave any of your slow cooker recipes in the comment section.

Removing Wallpaper

I cannot believe it's been 5 years since I put the Spongebob wallpaper border on my son's bedroom wall. It is now time to take it off since he's a bit too old for that theme anymore.

I find Youtube a very helpful resource for learning new skills. This link will show how to take off wallpaper using the proper tools.

Learning to Install a Kitchen Faucet

As a homeowner one quickly learns that there are many things that can wear out and need replacing. The most frequent problem I've encountered are leaky faucet or dripping ones which drive my nerves crazy.

Youtube is a wonderful resource for learning self-helps like replacing a leaky faucet. See Here

If I can learn to do this on my own, I will save money hiring someone else to do it for me. I have two leaky faucet to replace so I hope to be able to do so on my own.

Scouts

Well, my ds is so happy to be a part of Scouts. They have their kick-off camp tomorrow night and it's not going to be a warm night. Looks like he'll be bundling up for this camp-out under the stars.

He still needs a uniform. This is wear I need to order it.
